Other notable parks in New York include the Statue of Liberty National Monument, Ellis Island Immigration Museum, Prospect Park, Corona Park, the Bronx Zoo, and New York Botanical Gardens.

New York is world renowned for its entertainment and performing arts industries as well as its celebrities.  The city is home to over 500 art galleries. The Lincoln Center for Performing Arts includes Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Opera, New York Philharmonic, the New York City Ballet, the Vivian Beaumont Theater, Julliard School, and Alice Truly Hall. Carnegie Hall, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Rockefeller Center and of course “Broadway” are the city’s largest and most renowned theaters. If luxury shopping is important be sure and check out 5th and Madison Avenues.

Sports teams also abound in “the Big Apple.”  New York is home to two MLB teams the New York Yankees and the New York Mets along with two minor league teams the Staten Island Yankees and the Brooklyn Cyclones. The NFL is represented by the New York Jets and the New York Giants, while the NHL is represented by the New York Rangers, the New Jersey Devils, and the New York Islanders. The New York Knicks of the NBA, the New York Liberty of the WNBA, and MLS’s Red Bulls of New York all reside in the city. Queens also hosts the US Tennis Open and the New York Marathon is held in the city every year.
